The Dance is a live album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released in 1997. It hailed the return of the band's most successful line-up of Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, John McVie and Stevie Nicks, who had not released an album together since 1987's Tango in the Night a decade earlier. It was the first Fleetwood Mac release to top the . album charts since 1982's Mirage.

Despite this, the Unplugged-styled setting wasn't ideal for a reunion, since the group decided to devote nearly a quarter of The Dance to new material, inevitably resulting in unfair comparisons to their warhorses. Since there's so much new material, The Dance can't be a truly nostalgic experience either, because the new songs interrupt the flow. Not that they're bad - both Buckingham's gentle "Bleed to Love Her" and nervy "My Little Demon" are first-rate - but they aren't given the full-fledged production they deserve.

Fleetwood Mac Interviewed By John Pidgeon. 1997 Live at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, CA 5/23/97. The Greatest Seventies Album.

The Dance finds Fleetwood Mac rekindling their late ‘70s magic on stage with mostly successful results. Old friends and sparring partners Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie harmonize and take turns in the spotlight, backed as before by the sturdy rhythm section of John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. Performing in a stripped-down format, the group reconsiders its past with a sense of perspective - Nicks in particular adds something new to signature songs like Rhiannon and Landslide.
