Stage appearances of Stanley Holloway. Holloway performed two songs; With a Little Bit of Luck and Get Me to the Church on Time. He was nominated for a Tony Award. April 1958 – 3 October 1959. He is especially known for his role of Alfred Doolittle, having had a long association with the musical My Fair Lady, performing in the original 1956 Broadway production, the 1958 London version and the film version of 1964. He received Tony Award & Academy Award nominations for his performances. He was also renowned for his recordings of comic monologues and was still performing English character parts into his eighties. He died at the age of 91.

Stanley Donwood has been creating all the artwork for Radiohead since ‘The Bends’ in 1995. I spoke to him about the extraordinary relationship he has with the band and the process of working together. Here are all the stories behind each album sleeve. I got a CPR mannequin and filmed it on an old-fashioned video camera with a video cassette in it. It all went a bit mad after the success of the album but I’d had a baby daughter so that eclipsed it a bit. I was 24 at the time and the first person I knew to have a child. I wanted it to be like something that was found. I had this idea that there an empty house and you go up the dusty stairs without a carpet, go into the attic and there’s an old knackered chest of drawers, and inside there’s a box and inside there’s the book.

Stanley Holloway was a British actor and singer, primarily known for comic monologues and songs. In 1890, Holloway was born in Manor Park, Essex. In 1965, Manor Park was incorporated into Greater London, as part of an administrative reform. It is currently part of the London Borough of Newham, in East London. Holloway's parents were lawyer's clerk. Stanley Holloway was a British actor and singer, primarily known for comic monologues and songs.
