Album · 2013 · 12 Songs. Only Slightly Mad David Bromberg.

Live acoustic blues from a master. You either love David Bromberg or you don't. He is a National Treasure but he is also an acquired taste for some. This musical genius is doing his acoustic old, time style blues from his "My Own House/You Should See the Rest of the Band" combined cd. The cd was released in 1999 from two albums released in 1978. This is a gem! Enjoy!!! Check out the Bromberg official site.

The second album included on this disc couldn't be more of a contrast: You Should See the Rest of the Band is a live recording with a large and very definitely electric band. David Bromberg the rock & roll bandleader is much more inclined toward horn-driven R&B ("Key to the Highway," "Sharon"), although he does pull out the fiddle for a high-octane romp through a medley of traditional tunes at the end of the show. His singing, while not bad, isn't really worth mentioning.

David Bromberg is an album by American t and singer-songwriter David Bromberg The album was reissued on CD by Wounded Bird Records in 2007. Producer: David Bromberg. Sharon This song is by David Bromberg and appears on the album Demon in Disguise (1972) and on the album You Should See The Rest Of The Band (1980). Dylan did some sessions with David Bromberg then scrapped them as not being the sound he wanted. Never heard them before. I saw David Bromberg performing with Stefan Grossman and Happy Traum in 1975 and it was one of the very best shows I ever did saw, yes siree. Series of dreams is on the session as is Hard Times, Pancho and Lefty and Political World. Bromberg said later that, on reflection Dylan, was right to ditch the recordings on here for the subsequent ones. Good playing and some fine guitar from Bromberg, as you’d expect, but I’m inclined to agree. Saw Bromberg with a full band in about 78 and then about 3 years ago in a small club.

So David dissolved his band in 1980, and he and his artist/musician wife, Nancy Josephson, moved from Northern California to Chicago, where David attended the Kenneth Warren School of Violin Making. Though he still toured periodically, the recordings slowed to a trickle and then stopped. After too many Chicago winters, in 2002 David and Nancy were lured to Wilmington, De. where they became part of the city’s artist-in-residence program and where David could establish David Bromberg Fine Violins, a retail store and repair shop for high quality instruments.

The Band is the second studio album by the Band, released on September 22, 1969. It is also known as The Brown Album. According to Rob Bowman's liner notes for the 2000 reissue, The Band has been viewed as a concept album, with the songs focusing on people, places and traditions associated with an older version of Americana.
