Nicole Rieu (born 16 May 1949, Chaumont, Haute-Marne) is a French singer, best known outside France for her participation in the 1975 Eurovision Song Contest. Rieu signed her first record contract with AZ Records in 1969. In 1973 she was spotted by the larger Barclay label, where she was offered a deal, and scored a hit with her first release "Je suis". In 1975, Rieu was chosen internally by channel TF1 as the French representative for the 20th Eurovision Song Contest with the Pierre Delanoë-penned song "Et bonjour à toi l'artiste".

Rieu, 66, is the son of a conductor. He grew up in the Netherlands and began playing violin at the age of five. At first, he played in his father's orchestra, but didn't particularly like the serious atmosphere in the concert halls. Also like Strauss, Rieu conducts his orchestra with his violin bow and breaks the dusty rules of classical music by making jokes, telling stories, and occasionally even adding a dash of slapstick comedy. All the while, the audience clap enthusiastically in the aisles, sing, hum and dance. I try to have fun on stage and also involve the audience", he says. I think that classical music has lost its contact with the people. I'm happy when I play for the crowd and can be with them. That's what I do, and I simply love it!". For the past 25 years, the Dutch superstar.

André Rieu celebrates the tenth anniversary of his Maastricht summer concert - in Italian style. John Suchet's Album of the Week, 3 November 2014. 2014 marked the tenth consecutive year of André Rieu's traditional summer evening concerts in Mastricht's historic Vrijthof square. Over five nights in July, Rieu staged an extraordinary spectacle, transforming the site into an open-air concert hall, inviting along guest artists and putting on stunning light shows.

Your Love (Nicole Scherzinger song). Your Love" is a song recorded by American singer Nicole Scherzinger for her second studio album Big Fat Lie (2014). It was written by Terius "The-Dream" Nash and C. "Tricky" Stewart and produced by the duo alongside Godz of Analog, with vocal production provided by Bart Schoudel.

Rieu is, in case there is any doubt, an extremely fine violinist with a seductively plush tone and a stage persona that turns out to be surprisingly relaxed and informal. Referring to the howling gales outside, he introduces the Skater’s Waltz as the perfect piece of music for your Irish shit weather. And the concert is subject to a strange microclimate of its own, with sudden downpours of balloons and flurries of fake snow that takes some shaking off afterwards. Rieu strides into his drawing room at precisely the appointed time.
