Harold Budd - Abandoned Cities download album
Why this is my most played Harold Budd album.
Abandoned Cities is made up of two very long pieces for keyboard and electric guitar. In mood, if not sound, they bring to mind Robert Fripp and Brian Eno's No Pussyfooting album: the guitar is barely recognizable, and harmonic movement is mostly limited to long suspensions and resolutions
Consumer Guide Album. Sounds like chords on a color organ played back at 16-r. Recommended to seekers after low-down ambience.

Abandoned Cities is for sure one of Harold Budd's most emotionally satisfying works. Of the Harold Budd releases and collaborations I've heard, I think Abandoned Cities constitutes the most unusual and uncharacteristic. Consisting of two side-long dark ambient soundscapes, Budd's minimalistic piano playing is more or less entirely absent from the album, leaving in its place a haunting electronic evocation of total desolation
Complete your Harold Budd collection. One of the worst examples I've heard in awhile. This type of music requires a dead quiet noise floor and this is a total fail.
