The sound on this CD-R is terrific, though you'll hear a few pops from the original vinyl. They're really not too distracting; the performance is just so top-notch. What's missing from the two-record set on this single CD is a three-song medley with Gerry Mulligan and another song from Mel, a sweet one called "Chase Me, Charlie. I'm glad I got this album on CD, so I don't have to use the turntable, and I've grown.
