Rush is the debut studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on March 1, 1974 by the band's own label Moon Records in Canada and by Mercury Records in the United States and internationally. Their first release shows much of the hard rock sound typical of many of the popular rock bands emerging earlier in the decade. Rush fans, meanwhile, will quite enjoy his latest book, Rush: Album by Album, which brings together an intriguing mix of musicians, journalists, Rush associates, and fans to discuss each of the band's 20 studio albums. Guys like Metallica's Kirk Hammett and guitarists Paul Gilbert and Jim Matheos are in there. Are their roots in prog and metal? Deciding the best Rush album is a near impossible task. On one hand, you have a perfect meld of Rush's 70's and 80's era in Moving Pictures. On the other, you have their absolute classic album and the recording that cemented them as a prog rock powerhouse, 2112, with that legendary masterpiece of a title track. On the other hand, you could say the vast amounts of experimentation on Hemispheres resulting in quite possibly the greatest rock instrumental ever, La Villa Strangiato, takes the cake for pinnacle Rush album  . But I really don't know if they can possibly end their career with a better song than The Garden or with a better album than Clockwork Angels. Well done, gentlemen! It took a while but eventually this album slowly climbed it way to the top of my list.

Signals (Rush album). Signals is the ninth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1982. It was the follow-up to the successful Moving Pictures. 1 Writing and recording.
