Wavelength" is the title song from the 1978 album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. Released as a single in 1978, it climbed to number forty two in the US charts, and stayed in the Hot 100 for eleven weeks. According to Howard A. Dewitt, this "was the song which re-established Morrison's hit making abilities". Wavelength" was recorded in spring 1978 at the Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California.

While this album is a vast improvement over the previous A Period Of Transition it still isn't the quality of 1974's Veedon Fleece, but nonetheless a great listen. This album was greatly influenced by what was popular at the time

Often interpreted as a song about Morrison's travels in America or a celebration of FM radio, Van explained that it is actually about the Voice of America, which is a radio service run by the United States government for political purposes. Morrison explained to Melody Maker in 1979 that he listened to the service when he was a kid. "It's actually about Europe, because that's where the station was. It came out of Frankfurt, and the first time I ever heard Ray Charles was on the Voice of America
