On this day in 1988, my first solo album 'Outrider' had entered the Billboard charts. The album was on David Geffen's label. I had worked closely with the label's publicist Bryn Bridenthal on press in LA to promote the record and even had a single released.

Jimmy Page Listening to Rumble.
James Patrick Page OBE (born 9 January 1944) is an English musician, songwriter, and record producer who achieved international success as the guitarist and founder of the rock band Led Zeppelin. Page began his career as a studio session musician in London and, by the mid-1960s, alongside Big Jim Sullivan, was one of the most sought-after session guitarists in Britain. He was a member of the Yardbirds from 1966 to 1968. In late 1968, he founded Led Zeppelin.

The remaining four tracks on the first disc include two unidentified pop/rock vocal selections in a mid-'60s style and two jazzy piano instrumentals. Page gets off some good solos here and there.
This is Jimmy Page's first official published work, a collaboration with Genesis Publications entitled Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page. It is the definitive photographic autobiography of one of the world’s most iconic guitar players and, as well as signing every copy, Jimmy personally chose each of the 650 photographs, wrote the accompanying captions and helped design the magnificently luxurious binding. The book portrays Jimmy’s journey from choirboy through his extensive work as a session musician; from The Yardbirds through Led Zeppelin, ARMS, The Firm, Outrider, Coverdale & Page and Page & Plant; playing with The Black Crowes, Roy Harper and Puff Daddy; and performing with Leona Lewis at the closing ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Limited to 2500 copies, the book sold out in record time.
Jimmy Page is the virtuoso guitarist and founder of Led Zeppelin - the swashbuckling hard rock band that set the standard for the many who have followed. Zeppelin may be the most imitated band in the world, and Jimmy Page has been selected as the greatest guitarist in the history of rock music. A self-taught prodigy who began performing publicly at 13, by his early 20s he was one of the most sought-after session guitarists in London, recording with nearly every major name in British pop and rock. Page recorded one album with the band, toured the United States, and appeared with them in the feature film Blow-Up, but the band had run its course and Page was left on his own to fulfill a series of scheduled concert dates. Whether or not Jimmy Page and Robert Plant stole Stairway to Heaven, their catalog is full of blatant musical swipes. This song, more than any other track on Led Zeppelin’s debut album, established their epic sweep. It was written by American folk singer Anne Bredon in the 1950s: Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, however, were fans of Joan Baez and knew the track from her 1962 album Joan Baez in Concert, Part 1. (Page has said that he learned the song in the days of sitting in the darkness, playing my six-string behind Marianne Faithfull.
