Premiata Forneria Marconi (PFM) (translation: Award-winning Marconi Bakery) is an Italian progressive rock band founded in 1970 and which continues to the present day. They were the first Italian group to have success internationally. The group recorded five albums with English lyrics between 1973 and 1977. During this period they entered both the British and American charts. The English album included another re-recording of "Impressioni di settembre" as the title track. This was their last collaboration with Peter Sinfield, as the group were not entirely pleased with the content of his English lyrics. Interview: Franz Di Cioccio (Premiata Forneria Marconi) at Hit-Channel.

It was the first album to include Bernardo Lanzetti (formerly singer of Acqua Fragile) on lead vocals Track listing

After this album PFM released "The World Became The World" which has the five tracks from "L'Isola Di Niente" plus the track 'The World Became The World' (which is a rehash of 'Impressione Di Settembre' from the band's first album), all with English lyrics by Sinfield which are not translations of the original Italian lyrics

Premiata Forneria Marconi's third Italian album (their fourth if one counts the 1973 release Photos of Ghosts, the English version of Per un Amico) came out shortly before ELP's Manticore imprint released its English version under the title The World Became the World.

In good short, The World Became the World returned . M to the familiar grounds of success and acclaim. It also helped them build onto their current instrumental structure, advance in style, and craft something that prog rock fans could once again enjoy. To say the least: "questa opera d'arte è la pena un giro. The next two albums wouldn't be nearly as impressive. L'Isola di Niente is more or less the Italian version of The World Became the World.

L'isola di niente ("The Isle of Nothing") is the fourth album by Italian progressive rock band Premiata Forneria Marconi, released in 1974. Like the group's previous albums, it is sung Italian and performed well in Italy. The English version, The World Became the World features all of the tracks on L'isola di niente plus the title track, which is an English version of "Impressioni di Settembre". English lyrics were provided, as previously, by Peter Sinfield.
