Tracks is a four-disc box set by Bruce Springsteen, released in 1998 containing 66 songs. This box set mostly consists of d songs recorded during the sessions for his many albums, but also includes a number of single B-sides, as well as demos and alternate versions of already-released material. The project began in early 1998, when Springsteen and his chief recording engineer, Toby Scott, began going through his massive collection of unreleased songs
Nebraska is the sixth studio album by Bruce Springsteen, released on September 30, 1982, by Columbia Records. Sparsely recorded on a 4-track cassette tape Portastudio 144, the songs on Nebraska were originally intended as demos of songs to be recorded with the E Street Band. However, Springsteen ultimately decided to release the demos himself. Nebraska remains one of the most highly regarded albums in his catalog.
As on The River, the most outwardly optimistic songs on the new album are sung by a man who knows full well that his dreams of easy deliverance are empty. Reason to Believe adds the final brush strokes, by turns blackly humorous and haunting. One man stands alongside a highway, poking a dead dog as if to revive it; another heads down to the river to wed. The bride never shows, the groom stands waiting, the river flows on, and people, Bruce sings with faintly befuddled respect, still find their reasons to believe.
Here then are the 20 best Springsteen songs-the ones that emanated light even in the midst of darkness and despair. 25. From Small Things (Big Things One Day Come) Something of a lost classic originally destined for The River, its only official placement on a Springsteen album came via its inclusion on the bonus disc that accompanied The Essential Bruce Springsteen album.
