Basically, social climbers are taking away their own value: let them do that. When you recognize their behavior and address it you also dignify their action with your attention. You bring them to your own level. As I have stated many times already, the social climbers are actively harming themselves and they are jealous of you. Going straight to them will not make them stop to be jealous of you. The only time I would recommend you confront them is when what they say is actually, really harming you (a minority of cases).
Social Climbers never made a monumental impact, but despite their obscurity, nearly 30 years after they called it quits Drag City released Social Climbers, a self-titled compilation of the band’s 11 recordings, culling from their three long-forgotten 7" records. While often defined as a no wave band, the trio skirted around art rock, dub disco, and plastic soul to make music that pushed the parameters of no wave. In other words, they were the oddballs of an oddball scene

Album Social Climbers. Western World Lyrics. Money, money, is that all you want me for? I’m just not really feeling Social Climbers. Part of the problem could be just a lack of hard evidence. According to the label that’s reissuing their one and only album, Social Climbers were a no-wave/proto-punk band from New York who were odd even compared to other bands at the time like Suicide and Teenage Jesus & the Jerks. They supposedly did things like stage entire concerts with cardboard cutouts of themselves and piped-in music. Anyhow, Social Climbers’ self-titled 1980 album was just reissued on Drag City Records. Social Climbers on Yoga Records. Mark Bingham on CD Baby.
