The Orchestre de Paris (French pronunciation: ) is a French orchestra based in Paris. The orchestra currently performs most of its concerts at the Philharmonie de Paris. In 1967, following the dissolution of the Orchestre de la Société des Concerts du Conservatoire, the French Minister of Culture, André Malraux, and his director of music, Marcel Landowski, engaged conductor Charles Munch to create a new orchestra in Paris

The confluence of Louis XIV's love of music and dance and the talent of Jean-Baptiste Lully had constituted the high point of royal French patronage of music; Louis XV was relatively indifferent to music and it wasn't until Rameau was in his sixties when he was finally granted a royal appointment. Throughout his long career, though, he enjoyed great popular success and was considered France's outstanding composer, and he produced a large body of work including over 20 operas. Jean-Philippe Rameau. Le Concert des Nations, Jordi Savall. 2. Musette en Rondeau.
