1918 Художественный руководитель бывшего Мариинского театра. В том же году первым получил звание Народного артиста Республики.

1938 Скончался 12 апреля 1938 года.

Leonid Vitalyevich Sobinov (Russian: Леони́д Вита́льевич Со́бинов, June 7 1872 – October 14, 1934), was an acclaimed Imperial Russian operatic tenor. His fame continued unabated into the Soviet era, and he was made a People's Artist.

Singers Of Imperial Russia from Olimpia Boronat (1963) (LP). laminated flipback cover with libretto. 1. Antonina Nezhdanova: Fra Diavolo. Olimipia Boronat: I Puritani. Olimipia Boronat: The Nightingale.

He was an imposing figure of a man with a dark-timbered basso-cant ante voice. His rich vocal expression and excellent acting left a benchmark for later interpreters of Boris Gudunov and Don Quichotte. Both roles are considered his best. He was a superb actor whose stage presence thrilled his audience. He rose from a very humble if not miserable upbringing by sheer willpower and determination to the heights of operatic zenith.

Singers of imperial Russia. Event notes: Recorded in Russia, Italy, and England, 1904-1913. Description: 1 audio disc : analog, 33 1/3 rpm ; 12 in.

This disk in the Great Recordings of the Century series brings together six artists who flourished at the Imperial Theaters in Russia before the 1917 Revolution. All but one of the recordings from which this disk was made date from the same era. (The exception is a 1924 recording by Smirnov.

In that same year, he added the parts of Andrej (Mazeppa), Gérald (Lakmé) and Alfredo Germont (La traviata) to his repertoire. After going through the score of Carmen, he declined to take on the role of Don Jose, insisting that its dramatic nature would be too taxing for his voice. His performances were acclaimed not only in Russia but also in other European countries, owing to the beauty of his voice and the polish of his singing style.
