Punch Brothers - Who's Feeling Young Now? download album

Overview: It would be a mistake to call Who's Feeling Young Now? a bluegrass album, but there's certainly an element of bluegrass in the sound. Along with the lush acoustic instrumentals, the vocals are very smooth and powerful- almost too much

Punch Brothers are the quintet of mandolinist Chris Thile, guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjoist Noam Pikelny and violinist Gabe Witcher. Says the Washington Post, "With enthusiasm and experimentation, Punch Brothers take bluegrass to its next evolutionary stage, drawing equal inspiration from the brain and the heart. He continues, We were hoping to create something that would be convincing as a complete thought, in this case as a nine-movement, or nine-piece, thought. In 2012, the band released Who’s Feeling Young Now?, which Q praised for its ‘astonishing, envelope-pushing vision’, while Rolling Stone said, ‘The acoustic framework dazzles – wild virtuosity used for more than just virtuosity.

Punch Brothers is an American band consisting of Chris Thile (mandolin), Gabe Witcher (fiddle/violin), Noam Pikelny (banjo), Chris Eldridge (guitar), and Paul Kowert (bass). Their style has been described as "bluegrass instrumentation and spontaneity in the structures of modern classical" as well as "American country-classical chamber music. The band's most recent album, 2018's All Ashore was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Folk Album at the 61st Grammy Awards on February 10, 2019.

Who’s Feeling Young Now? finds this supergroup gelling as a unit. Formed by lead singer and mandolin master Chris Thile, the band includes Chris Eldridge on guitar, Paul Kowert on bass, Noam Pikelny on banjo, and Gabe Witcher on fiddle (and lead vocals on Hundred Dollars ). Starting from a bluegrass foundation, the Brothers veer into jazz, pop, rock, and hidden corners of Americana on their third release. With dazzling interplay they trade solos and dance around sophisticated tunes filled with unusual time signatures, melodic beauty, and washes of dissonance

Listening to Who’s Feeling Young Now?, I noticed the band seems to be moving further away from its bluegrass roots, not just in terms songwriting but also in breaking with the tradition of how each instrument is excepted to sound. Can you talk about the band’s progression from more of a bluegrass sound to where it is now? I think of our first record as How to Grow A Women from the Ground, which was released under Chris Thile’s name. Look out for Who’s Feeling Young Now?, which is out February 13 on Nonesuch Records.

Produced by Jacquire King. Album Who's Feeling Young Now? This Girl Lyrics. Verse 2) Father Father Father You've seen me try and try to make her love me I'd sell my soul to hear the one thing She thinks she'll never say But now it's Sunday Sunday Sunday And her pretty voice is rising up to ask you Like I once did like I'm about to If you could show. her the way. (Chorus) But there's this girl this girl this girl this girl this girl And I'd be the happiest backslider in the world If you would tell her it's your will for us to be together I would never bother you again.

The five members of Punch Brothers (interesting band name) have been together a number of years and this is their fifth album. Though, don’t mistake that for them being old. The members of the band are all between their mid-20s and early 30s. They still maintain the vigor of youth. That shows up clearly on their latest recording. Who’s Feeling Young Now contains twelve tracks filled with energy and passion. The bluegrass band’s music really draws you in and prompts a reaction filled with an equal amount of energy that they use playing.

Punch Brothers' line-up includes some of the most impressive and widely respected musicians performing today: Chris Eldridge (guitar), Paul Kowert (bass), Noam Pikelny (banjo), Chris Thile (mandolin and lead vocals), and Gabe Witcher (fiddle)  . 3.
