Van Halen II is just as good as the first album," Steel Panther's Russ ‘Satchel’ Parrish tells us. "It rocks so fucking hard. It was sometime in '78. I was looking at my copy of Van Halen’s first album when I heard a car engine stop below my Laurel Canyon guest house window. I couldn’t believe he wanted to come over that same day. I hadn’t put together any kind of real interview, so I just jotted down a few things to talk about and hoped for the best. I was on pins and needles already, so when I saw that other car parked in my spot I was about to go insane. I walked down the stairs, and was ready to tell the intruding driver to move his car or I was going to have it towed.

Van Halen is an American rock band, formed in Pasadena, California in 1972, by the Dutch-born American brothers Eddie Van Halen (guitar) and Alex Van Halen (drums), plus singer David Lee Roth and bassist Michael Anthony. The band's discography consists of 12 studio albums, two live albums, two compilation albums, and 56 singles. The band signed a contract with Warner Bros. Records in 1977, and in the following year released the album Van Halen.

This has been broken down into two tracks, 38 minutes each. Alex, Eddie, and Mike talk about their time in Van Halen, including their side of the Sammy Hagar split.

Van Halen is the self-titled debut studio album by American hard rock band Van Halen. Released on February 10, 1978, the album peaked at on the Billboard 200. Except Eddie Van Halen is real. We know this, because he’s sat next to us in 5150 Studios, playing the tapped part from Eruption. Eddie built the facility adjacent to his house in the early 80s and it has become the creative headquarters for every Van Halen album since, and the walls are lined with the guitars that bear his name. It’s lunchtime on a hot California day, the door is wide open and we have just been introduced to Matt Bruck, Eddie’s right-hand man for all things EVH brand.

On the first leg of Van Halen’s A Different Kind of Truth tour, toward the end of the band’s set, there was a moment during the middle of Eddie Van Halen’s solo spot in the show where the world seemed to stop spinning. Even the techs, security staff and backstage production personnel would stop what they were doing to focus on the celestial sounds emanating from the stage, with huge smiles on their faces that mirrored Ed’s beatific grin as he unleashed a staggering cascade of notes. However, as we all know now, that was not to be the case, as in February Van Halen released A Different Kind of Truth, the band’s 12th studio album and its seventh with David Lee Roth on vocals.

As we all know, son of Eddie Van Halen, Wolfgang Van Halen is working on his first solo album for a while. Back on December 2018, rock journalist Eddie Trunk has claimed that Van Halen will reunite with the lineup of David Lee Roth, Michael Anthony, Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen.
