Victor Krummenacher is an American bass guitarist and guitarist. He is a founding member of alternative rock band Camper Van Beethoven. In addition to co-founding Camper Van Beethoven, Krummenacher is also a co-founder of CVB offshoot Monks of Doom, and a member of Camper Van Chadbourne. In the spring of 2017, he appeared on Monks of Doom's first album of new compositions in 25 years, entitled The Brönte Pin.
With a package and sleeve notes cleverly strewn together to resemble a sci-fi horror soundtrack (and, hey, in some ways, it is!), Revenge of Camper Van Chadbourne captures the lovably eccentric Dr. Eugene Chadbourne reunited with his trusty assistants, former Camper Van Beethoven bandmates Victor Krummenacher and Jonathan Segel, during one night in 1999 at New York's venerable Knitting Factory.
Molla left Camper Van Beethoven after touring for the third album, reducing the band to a five-piece with Lowery, Krummenacher, Segel, Lisher, and Pedersen - the longest-standing lineup in their initial career. David Immerglück also continues to join the band's lineup for occasional shows. Main article: List of Camper Van Beethoven band members. David Lowery – lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, bass, drums (1983–1990, 1999–present). Victor Krummenacher – bass, baritone guitar, vocals, occasional lead vocals (1983–1990, 1999–present).
BrooklynVegan: Victor Krummenacher of Camper Van Beethoven will be having a very busy 2019. He’ll also pull double duty this spring on a tour where he’ll play solo as the opening act for his other band, Monks of Doom. Following some solo headlining dates in California, Victor and Monks of Doom hit US cities like Savannah, Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Madison, and more. The late nineties saw Krummenacher continuing his collaboration with Segel and Eugene Chadbourne as Camper Van Chadbourne, and even mending fences with David Lowery, resulting in periodic reunions of the great Camper Van Beethoven and an appearance on Cracker's album Forever. In 2003, Krummenacher released his third solo album, Nocturne. Chadbourne enlisted Victor Krummenacher, Jonathan Segel, Chris Pedersen, David Lowery, and a few other friends for three predictably strange albums-Camper Van Chadbourne, The Eddie Chatterbox Double Trio Love Album, and 69th Sin Funny ('89 Live At The Knitting Factory)-that magnified CVB's more eccentric tendencies. Sadly, the albums weren't quite as good as they could or should have been, but as curiosities they're worth a listen.
