The Freddie Mercury Album is a posthumous solo project with material from Queen frontman and vocalist Freddie Mercury released in 1992, to observe the anniversary of his death. The album is mainly made up of remixes from his past releases, as well as the original versions of "Barcelona", "Love Kills", "Exercises in Free Love", and "The Great Pretender". A week later, The Great Pretender, its US counterpart, was released.
Barcelona is a collaborative studio album recorded by Freddie Mercury, frontman of popular British rock band Queen, and operatic soprano Montserrat Caballé. It was released in 1988. After Barcelona was selected to host the 1992 Summer Olympics, Mercury was approached to write a song as a theme for the forthcoming games. The idea was to create a duet with Caballé, as she was from the city. He had been a long-standing admirer of her and she in turn grew to respect his talents very highly.
The album was primarily recorded in the same studio where the Sex Pistols were finishing Never Mind the Bollocks, leading to some memorable encounters between the two bands. Most of News of the World‘s tracks were cut at London’s Wessex Studios, an arrangement which put the band on a collision course with British punks the Sex Pistols, who were working in the same studio complex on their landmark debut album. We used to bump into them in the corridors, guitarist Brian May recalled to Queen biographer Mark Blake. Then, according to Queen biographer Daniel Nester, Freddie rose from his chair and began to playfully flick the safety pins displayed on the front of Sid’s leather jacket. Tell me, he asked, did you arrange these pins just so?
Freddie Dredd is a rapper from Toronto, Canada, but is now in Oshawa, Canada. He is a rapper under the name Freddie Dredd but also a producer of a lot of his songs under the pseudonym Ryan C. Freddie Dredd is also a part of two groups known as DOOMSHOP RECORDS (As you should’ve heard from his yelling DOOMSHOP Motherfucka! ) and SIXSET. He also appears in other songs from other artists.
I mean, with that title how could this album be anything but wonderful? Initially I was disappointed because it appeared several tracks were previously on his album Mr. Bad Guy, but I was delighted to discover that these are different of said songs, therefore not repeats. Barcelona is the same as it is on the album of the same name, but it’s actually nice having it on here as well).
Although Freddie Mercury had a legitimate solo career in Europe, the Queen singer's solo output was largely ignored stateside (since Queen's albums weren't selling that well in the . during the mid- to late '80s, you wouldn't expect Mercury's solo material to exactly light up the charts). But Mercury managed to score quite a few solo hits back home in the .
The Freddie Mercury Album. The Freddie Mercury Album. The Freddie Mercury Album, 1992. 16 November 1992 (UK). Released nearly a year to the day after Freddie's death, The Freddie Mercury Album was a specially commissioned compilation by Queen Productions that collected a handful of remixes of Freddie's songs, done by various producers (much like the remixes on the 1991 Hollywood Records reissues). Instead of presenting a straightforward compilation of Freddie's best-regarded solo material, which probably would have been the ideal solution, the remixes were an attempt to update the sound and techniques that Freddie had first used.

30 years after this 1964 photograph of a Los Angeles drive-through was taken by Bruce Davidson it became the cover art to The Beastie Boys 1994 classic album Ill Communication. Here’s Davidson’s original photo. Here’s The Beastie Boys album cover in which they cropped the original photo and made it look a lot older. Now we just have to find out who the guy is and the location of this Los Angeles drive-through which I am certain is no longer there.
