After the 60's we have selected the outstanding album or the live set which shows the best of the artist's talents. Our list covers all ages of the Blues, from the early Country Music styles through to the electric Blues of the City. The Blues has traveled around the world and back again, and our list reflects this. This bargain, re-mastered double CD has his finest album, 'Big Bill's Blues' plus three more collections, totalling 45 tracks, which show the breadth of the man's talent. The Golden Age. When Muddy Waters arrived in Chicago from the Delta in 1942, he realised the Blues would have to LOUD in the noisy city. When he plugged himself in, Electric Blues was born and his big selling records on the Chess label meant everyone quickly followed him.

More Rock & Roll Rarities from the Golden Era of Chess Records. This second volume of producer Steve Hoffman's discoveries in the Chess Records vaults features some less-prominent Chuck Berry tunes, again in the form of demos, unreleased alternate takes, and stereo remixes. Listeners are getting into collector territory here, but there are still some enjoyable examples of the Berry repertoire.
The album was so successful that it pushed John to super-stardom and I’ll confess that it was the beginning of the end for me. Remember when EJ was still just being discovered with the album troika of Tumbleweed–Madman–Honky Chateau? Man, those were great days. The album’s 18 songs explore blues, country and other genres and, of course, what the World’s Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band are known for. It’s fairly safe to say that no one bought it for its singles, though Tumbling Dice did get to and Happy (with Keith Richards on lead vocal) reached Like a fine bottle of red, Exile has aged beautifully.
