Taking Abalonia Lyrics. Sad songs and lullabies Are singign the world goodnight Sleep tight little world. Sirens on Christmas day Bad luck is here to stay I'm watching the world go by. I'm counting out the seconds Between thunder and lightning The rain is nature's copper wire It's wrapped around my feet And I'm standing in a field The widest open field.

Said The Whale’s music is pure West Coast. There’s rich harmonies drawn from California pop, crunchy guitars rooted in the lineage of Pacific Northwest indie rock, and naturalistic lyrics inspired by the water and mountains of their hometown of Vancouver. Having spent a more than a decade together, the JUNO Award-winning trio of Tyler Bancroft (vocals/guitar), Ben Worcester (vocals/guitar) and Jaycelyn Brown (keyboards) have perfected a big-hearted sound that’s warmly organic and filled with pop hooks.

This extended version of Vancouver-based, Canadian indie rock outfit Said the Whale's 2007 debut EP, Taking Abalonia, features seven bonus tracks, including This City’s a Mess, Curse of the Currents, and My Government Heart.
