We started the recording 100 years after the First World War ended (11/11/1918) and during the following 3 months we completed the album together with our long term partner Jonas Kjellgren at Black Lounge studios. This is not the first time we sing about stories from this period in time, but now we felt the timing was right to make a full concept album about this war. The album has been mastered by Maor Appelbaum and the artwork was once again created by Peter Sallaí. Here’s an interview of Pär discussing the new album

Wage War have announced to fans that they are working on a new album. The band also recently dropped a fierce new track Low. It’s a sweltering sample of what fans can expect on the band’s upcoming album, the follow-up to 2017’s Deadweight. Low’ is one of the first full songs we completed after Deadweight, singer/guitarist Cody Quistad explains. It started as most songs do with the main riff.

Wage War were in town to support Of Mice & Men on their huge UK tour, so we caught up with Briton and Cody to chat new music, memories of Warped Tour and try and get some sneaky details on the new record from their friends A Day To Remember. The boys released their latest album 'Deadweight' back in August 2017 but they are already hard at work on a new set of circle pit anthems, with, according to Cody, a more melodic sound in mind: "We really wanna push the melodic direction. We really liked where 'Gravity' took the band, 'Johnny Cash'.

Craig Finn calls I Need A New War the conclusion to a trilogy he began with 2015's Faith In The Future and continued with 2017’s We All The Same Things. but like so many rock ‘n’ roll triads, it only came into focus in hindsight. At its outset, neither Finn nor his fans assumed he was on a grand journey; he was merely experimenting with softer, quieter territory. It's this humanism that distinguishes I Need A New War from its partners in Finn's loose trilogy, and helps the record stand alone. In its quiet way, it radiates with all of the intensity of the Hold Steady’s scrappiest cuts. Finn has already built a sturdy legacy, but his solo records yield their own durable pleasures: I Need A New War shines like a beacon of light in a dark time.
