After what should have been his comeback record, Knnillssonn, underperformed in 1977, Harry blamed RCA and began maneuvering to leave his longtime label. He did, recording Flash Harry for Mercury Records, who inexplicably released it only in (and around) the UK and Japan. Musically, it’s not unlike some of Harry’s mid-70s work, with somewhat groovier results. Though he lived another 14 years and was involved in many musical side projects, Harry Nilsson never released another album after Flash Harry. Track listing: Harry (by Eric Idle & Charlie Dore) (Idle) Cheek To Cheek (George/Parks/Kibbee) Best Move (ood) Old Dirt Road (Lennon/Nilsson) I Don’t Need You (Christian) Rain (Nilsson) I’ve Got It (Nilsson/Botkin J. It’s So Easy (Nilsson/Stallworth) How Long Can Disco On (Nilsson/Starr) Bright Side Of Life (Idle).

Flash Harry" finally being released on CD is the biggest news for Harry Nilsson fans in a long, long time. Harry's last album (LP as they were called back in the day) was never released in the US and so became a bit of a Holy Grail for his fans. After finally tracking down a copy it became rather difficult to admit that the Holy Grail was a bit of a disappointment  . This not by any means one of Nilsson's best albums. That said, there is material that is pretty good on Flash Harry. If you are wanting to expand pass a greatest hit album, don't purchase this one. Purchase "Harry" or something early in his career.

From the Knnillssonn album (1977).
