Eddie Harris - Plug Me In Vinyl LP Released June 14, 1968 Killer stuff – and an amazing album that not only showcases the varitone sax talents of Eddie.
Plug Me In is an album by American jazz saxophonist Eddie Harris recorded in 1968 and released on the Atlantic label.
The Electrifying Eddie Harris, Plug Me In - Студийный альбом от Eddie Harris. В альбом вошло 21 треков. The title is a reference to Harris's use of a Varitone device to electronically amplify and process his saxophone. This is the album referenced in the first line of Beastie Boys' song So What'cha Want, from their 1992 album Check Your Head.
One of Eddie Harris's more underrated sessions, this out-of-print Atlantic album finds Harris creatively playing his electrified tenor on a wide variety of tunes, some of which utilize rock/funk rhythms of the period. Although his supporting cast includes such fine players as baritonist Haywood Henry, trumpeter Jimmy Owens and pianist Jodie Christian, the focus throughout is on Harris's distinctive playing. The only real fault to this enjoyable set is that.

Commercial show how well Harris’ electronic Varitone sax melded to the rock-hard rhythms. The tone is militant and unapologetic, and though the album features no lyrics, it pledges allegiance to the burgeoning Black Nationalist movement with resolute groove of Live Right Now.
