Survival is the eleventh studio album by Bob Marley & The Wailers released in 1979. Survival is an album with an outwardly militant theme. Some critics speculate that this was due in part to criticism Marley received for the laid-back, ganja-soaked atmosphere of his previous release, "Kaya", which seemed to sidetrack the urgency of his message. In the song "Africa Unite", Marley proclaims Pan-African solidarity. The song "Zimbabwe" is a hymn dedicated to later-independent Rhodesia

Kaya was initially released just one month ahead of Bob Marley & The Wailers headlining the legendary One Love Peace Concert at The National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica on April 22, 1978, an event that featured 16 of reggae’s biggest acts. One Love Peace was heralded as Marley’s triumphant return to his native soil, following his long exile in London after having fled the country as a result of a December 1976 assassination attempt at his Kingston homestead.

BMW, consisted of Marley himself as song writer and lead singer, 6-7 regular musicians in Wailers Band and the I Threes backup female vocalists. It is the most prosperous reggae band ever with +75 million record sales, known for songs like One Love, I Shot The Sheriff, Natural Mystic.
As was the case with the heralded first collection, this three-CD set, which covers Marley and the Wailers from 1970-1971, have their origins in the early sessions Marley did for the JAD label. Due to a myriad of twisted legal reasons, these sessions (another set is due out shortly) were never released outside of Jamaica. Kaya was later the name for Bob Marley & The Wailers 1978 album. Its a classic ganja homage. Keep On Moving is another great song.
