The Kinks: все альбомы, включая Live at Kelvin Hall, Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire), Something Else by the Kinks и другие.
The BBC gave the band a platform and support at crucial stages in their career and The Kinks At The BBC could be seen essentially as an alternate Greatest Hits, a musical growing up in public. This incredible archive represents a great set of previously unreleased recordings in the Kinks catalog.
Kinks is the self-titled debut album by English rock band The Kinks, released in 1964. It was released with three tracks omitted as You Really Got Me in the United States. The album was re-released in 1998 in the UK on Castle Records with twelve bonus tracks. This reissue was itself reissued in 2004 on the Sanctuary label.
The Kinks hit the ground running at an exhausting pace in 1964, with a relentless schedule of touring, recording, and various on-air interviews and performances that would keep them in the charts and jet-lagged until an eventual slowing down into the '70s and '80s. Pared down from a six-volume set that collects every known recording from the BBC archives that the band ever did, The Kinks at the BBC focuses on peak years 1964 through 1977, still cramming in 54 tracks, but leaving the band's less inspired material from the '80s and a wealth of poor-quality bootleg recordings.
The Kinks are an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, in 1964 by brothers Ray and Dave Davies. They are regarded as one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s. The band emerged during the height of British rhythm and blues and Merseybeat, and were briefly part of the British Invasion of the United States until their touring ban in 1965 (as a result of constant fighting between the brothers)

As live Kinks albums go, BBC Sessions is about as fine a representation of the quartet's inimitable sense of showmanship as exists. Yes, there's Live at Kelvin Hall from the '60s, Everybody's in Show-Biz from the '70s, and One for the Road from the '80s, but this double-disc of broadcast performances captures the Davies brothers at the peak of their powers-from 1964, when they burst on the scene with "You Really Got Me" to 1977, when their. The Kinks are one of the better British Invasion groups that made it to our shores back in 1964. Along with the Beatles, Stones and The Who they continued to craft good music while keeping a sense of humor and irony in the songs. Since this recording covers a thirteen year span, we get better sense of their growth compared to the Beatles BBC recordings. Some songs are recognizable while others seem like they had never seen the day of light.
From the beginning the Kinks’ career was intimately entwined with the BBC. In the year following the August 1964 success of You Really Got Me the band were called in to record eight radio sessions, broadcast to the nation and around the world. When the BBC commissioned Ray Davies to write topical tunes for shows like The 11th Hour and Where Was Spring?, we got the first inkling of the Kinks’ future direction, somewhere between Dennis Potter and Lionel Bart.
