Bandcamp Release Of The Month: James Ferraro Human Story 3. Far Side Virtual turns five this year. That’s not a huge milestone, but feels more significant given the album’s zeitgeist-tapping horrorscapes. Ferraro’s self-released Human Story 3 is perhaps the closest he’s come to that sound since. Human Story 3‘s bright melodies and blatant product placement (delivered by disarmingly pleasant voices summoned from the same uncanny valley that gave us Siri) certainly echo Far Side, but the album builds on various qualities found in Ferraro’s discography, dragging familiar sounds into exciting, unknown territories. After years focusing on his own singing and manipulating computer-generated voices on records like the LA-focused Skid Row, Ferraro wields these new talents on ‘Neotenous Smart Car’ with a well-earned precision.

James Ferraro has covered many a genre in his highly conceptual, socially critical work, from bleak, ambience to offbeat hip-hop. For his latest album, Human Story 3, he applies a bright, orchestral soundtrack to our materialistic culture of smart cars and frozen lattes. The music captures the sheer magnificence and appeal of such products, but the constant bombardment of names like Prius and Ikea remind one that these things are becoming what we are, and that it's not completely okay

lunchmeat James Ferraro is a wizard (techonomancer) and this album shines so brightly above all the plastic and broken tamagotchi's that litter your step. Yan de Oliveira Deep and dark, but still paradoxically hopeful and light.

Just because it’s Wednesday and Human Story 3 is fucking pleasant as fuck, weary brothers. jDave claiming, New Rarro is p much Far Side Virtual 2 with the additional note: I say that and (1) it still sounds beautiful and (2) it shows how even post vaporwave explosion how different this stuff sounded from what it influenced, sorta like the difference between Loveless and every other shoegaze album. Upon the horizon rests the weekend. Human Story 3 is all of us. James Ferraro just might be Dr. Frankenstein. Or whoever is continuing to invent fake humans. Good morning: More about: James Ferraro.

Mr.Champions
Still waiting for this record (or the bonus stuff with it), it's been two years (!) since I made the order. I'm know of at least two others still waiting for theirs as well. Todd Ledford from OESBEE is the most incompetent heartless douchebag I've ever encountered in any music scene. Do not buy from this label.
Llanonte
Still waiting after over a year. Not cool at all.
Jogas
Wasn't there supposed to be a bonus for the first hundred or so people who pre-ordered? Anyone know what that was?
Vozuru
I got the Speed CD and I got the Black Joker LP as a bonus, which is a pretty rad album.
Frlas
Oh alright, from the emails they sent it seemed like those were bonus presents for being almost a year late on the release
Opithris
I think it was this: James Ferraro - Speed and a random record from the label's stock.
Doukree
I think this was only *actually* shipped out December of 2017 - January 2018, no?
Hra
Ordered a black LP and got a clear one. Anyone else? Definitely not complaining.
Dorintrius
i know, right? super full and rich sounding pressing. ferraro's stuff always sounds really good on vinyl though, his newer records especially are some of the best and clearest sounding pressings in my collection.
Dishadel
Contrary to what I assumed, my clear copy sounds super good
