Album · 1980 · 10 Songs. Following their '70s ascendance and preceding their '80s renaissance, this collection documents a crucial point in Aerosmith's trajectory. Fans rallied behind these songs, many of which appear here for the first time or in non-album form: A talk box-less "Sweet Emotion" retains the original's woozy sensuality, a shortened "Same Old Song and Dance" packs more hard-rock punch in its concision, and "Walk This Way" would later be dwarfed by the band's tag-team with Run-DMC.

A must have for some of their best songs up to that particular point in time! In the eighties everyone owned this album. More recently, if you had the album you had to get the CD for nostalgic purposes. An excellent album nonetheless! Responder Notifícame Helpful.

Aerosmith's Greatest Hits Tracklist. Produced by Adrian Barber. Written by Steven Tyler. Off of their first LP, this is one of Aerosmith’s biggest early hits, along with Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion. Sweet Emotion was released in April 1975 by Columbia Records on Toys in the Attic, Aerosmith’s third album. 4. Walk This Way Lyrics. Produced by Jack Douglas. Written by Steven Tyler & Joe Perry.

Aerosmith's Greatest Hits remains one of the most popular and enduring best-of collections by any rock band, selling nearly ten million copies in the . alone since its release. But when it was issued in 1980, the band had just about reached its nadir. With original guitarist Joe Perry gone (and Brad Whitford soon to follow), Aerosmith had turned into a directionless, time-consuming ghost of its former self

Notes

Label variant, DIDP 079879 at lower right under last track title.

The single version of "Same Old Song and Dance" was used, and was edited down almost a full minute. It also contained an alternate lyric which wasn't heard on Get Your Wings. The original lyric was "Gotcha with the cocaine, found with your gun." The alternate lyric, included on the compilation, was "You shady lookin' loser, you played with my gun."
"Sweet Emotion" also used the considerably less popular single version. The coda which ends the song was replaced with a repeating of the chorus and fades out. The song also begins with the first chorus, cutting out the now famous talk box intro.
"Kings and Queens" was also edited down, cutting the intro and certain other parts.
"Walk This Way" was edited slightly, chanting the first chorus once instead of twice.
